Commitment to Student Success

Mounds View schools succeed because we listen, collaborate, and work together. I’m Tascha Just, and I’m running for school board to keep that tradition strong – making sure every voice is heard and every student is seen.

I’m a school psychologist, a mom, and a leader who knows what works – and what doesn’t – when it comes to helping kids thrive. I’m running for the Mounds View School Board to make our schools places where mental health is protected, diversity is embraced, and every voice matters.

ISD 621 – Where We All Belong

As both a parent of Mounds View students and a school psychologist of 20+ years, I bring a unique perspective. I know firsthand what families need and what works in schools – and I’m ready to put that knowledge to work for our community.

My Why

I’m running for the Mounds View School Board because I believe strong schools build strong communities. With over 20 years as a school psychologist and as a parent in this district, I’m ready to protect what makes Mounds View special and ensure every child feels safe, supported, and ready to thrive.

My Vision

My vision is a school district where safety is a priority, mental health support is readily available, and all learners feel valued and understood. I aim to create an environment that promotes kindness, inclusion, and academic excellence for every student.

Core Values

Integrity, compassion, and transparency guide my work. I believe in listening to families and educators, making data-informed decisions, and fostering a district culture rooted in respect and collaboration to support all learners.

Tascha’s Top Priorities

My priorities are student safety, academic excellence, and community trust.

My first priority is student safety – from secure entrances to protecting against the 60,000 cyberattacks our district blocks each month. Safety also means making sure students feel respected, included, and valued. When students feel both physically and emotionally secure, they are free to focus fully on learning.

My second is academic excellence, with a focus on middle school math, where only 38% of students are proficient, while also lifting up neurodivergent learners, English language learners, and advanced students. Excellence means meeting each student where they are – whether that’s closing gaps, accelerating opportunities, or ensuring the right supports are in place. When we set high expectations and provide the tools to reach them, every student has a real chance to thrive.

My third is community trust and collaboration. We’ve seen success with policies like the cell phone plan and adding Diwali to the calendar when the district listened to families. That same spirit of partnership is how we will solve challenges ahead and keep our schools strong.
